I am a dreamer, free-spirit, idealist & humanitarian. You may know me as a TV News Anchor/Reporter, Multimedia Journalist, Traffic Reporter or Actor. No matter what the title, I hope to inspire people everywhere to spread Good News and Random Acts of Kindness.
Tanya Hutchins is a multimedia journalist and Communications Representative with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAMAW). She worked as a broadcast journalist for more than 10 years in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Washington, D.C. After a couple short stints doing traffic reports for Washington and Baltimore TV stations, Tanya joined the Machinists Union. She is also a member of SAG-AFTRA. In her spare time Tanya writes Charity & Volunteerism articles for Examiner.com in D.C. She was born in Queens, grew up in White Plains, N.Y. and earned her B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Ithaca College. She is also an avid still photographer and some of her photos are featured in her new book.
She has a special place in her heart for people who give back to the community through volunteerism or random acts of kindness. If you have a story idea, please feel free to email her below.
